The first time I was taking surfing lessons at Surfmilfontes was already in 2017 and it was so nice that I had to come back this year. And I can't wait to come back as soon as possible. Everyone was very nice and I look forward to seeing them again. Thanks to all the teachers, I learned a lot about surfing, they are very patient and answer every question detailed. Since my first surfing lesson I love surfing and I'm really thankful to everybody who taught me how to surf! I can only recommend Surfmilfontes!
This summer I went even twice to Sufmilfontes, because I had so much fun surfing there. The stuff is very kind and professional and the location is great. What I really liked about this surfschool is that you can truly feel the passion and joy of the teachers. They take care of your individual level, always trying to support everyone optimally. I enjoyed the three weeks I stayed there and can truly recommend Surfmilfontes. No matter if you are a beginner or advanced.
We give one star for the one member of staff who interacted with us - for him being personable. Unfortunately I can't name him as nobody introduced themselves to us. However I can't give any stars for the surf lesson itself or for value for money. I think we would have been better off hiring boards and wetsuits and going diy. I paid for my son, 13 and daughter, 10, to have a two hour lesson @ 40 each. I was asked their ages when making the booking and I also emphasised that they were total beginners.The class (about 20 - 25 + 2 instructors) was split in 2 on the sand to learn how to lie on the board and get into a standing position. Then it was every one for themselves! My children received little help or instruction in the water and they later told me the instructors were concentrating their efforts on those who were more experienced.To cut a long story short - there was no lesson, the class was far too big for the number of instructors, both my children were hit in the back or head by other boards and nobody checked to see if they were ok. When I handed over the money I wasn't asked how it had gone or if my children had enjoyed the experience - and certainly, nobody bothered asking anything of the children.I would only recommend this experience if you are a wannabe surfer dude who thinks it might be cool to hang out with surfer types and talk about your travelling experiences. If you can't surf and you want to learn, then you should probably consider a different option.
As a total beginner the course with Antonio was not just fun but also paid off as all of our group (5) were able to stand up on the board at least sometimes.Classes took place at a nearby beach and since my boyfriend and me had no car it was no problem to get a ride to the beach.All staff seemed easy going and professional, however the first doublelesson felt more worth the money than the second one as I did not get as intense feedback then. I am no expert so maybe this is just the way it is after the first success but for my sake the mere rental of a board and a wetsuit would have probably led to the same result on the second day.Nevertheless: I can fully recommend SurfMilfontes! * Professional staff * Good material * Great location
Both my teenage children took lessons with Surfmilfontes during summer 2017 and 2018. The teachers were very friendly and trustworthy. There were always several teachers, each of them responsible for a small group of surfers with about the same level. They took time to show each learner individually and helped them out in turn through the whole lesson. There were very generous with the length of the lesson (2 hours in the ocean). The Surfmilfontes team conveyed a caring and relaxed atmosphere. Both children were very enthusiastic and we can warmly recommend Surfmilfontes!
